DHL has won a contract from Air France Industries, the aviation group’s maintenance division,covering parts distribution and returns in Europe. Transportation will range from express delivery
of small parcels to specialised freight forwarding, with services provided by DHL Express, DHL ExelSupply Chain and DHL Global Forwarding.Under the contract, DHL will be responsible for parts transportation throughout Europe, mostlyfocused on Germany and the UK. Monthly volumes will total about 1,000 export shipments and 800import consignments.
DHL Express will handle express parcel delivery, DHL Global Forwarding will be in charge ofintra-European transport of extra-large freight shipments, while DHL Exel Supply Chain staff willprovide a large proportion of the logistics activities at four Air France Industries locations inFrance.
Emilie Quemeneur, Air France Industries transport and logistics purchasing executive, said thatDHL had been selected due to its integrated, cross-division solution that covered all of thecompany’s needs.
