GeoPost continues growth in 2005

GeoPost, the express subsidiary of the La Poste Group, maintained its growth last year with a6.2% rise in revenues to €2,534 million. Pre-tax profits ended 2005 at €142.9 million while GeoPost

companies carried more than 450 million parcels last year.

Growth was driven by higher volumes, particularly in Germany, the UK and Eastern Europe, as wellas by international sales. In 2004, the company had recorded revenues of €2,387 million and anoperating profit of €123 million.

GeoPost CEO Paul-Marie Chavanne commented: “GeoPost now operates in every European country. Thisputs us into the position to offer our customers an optimal service throughout Europe. In addition,the acquisition of 86.6% of the Greek express and document delivery service Interattica and theFrench Exapaq network strengthen our position as the third-largest B2B supplier in the Europeanparcels and express market.”

Hans Fluri, CEO of DPD GeoPost Germany, added: “Business in Germany grew above-average incross-border transport, both in volumes and revenues. This growth was of course supported by ourcore business, the domestic B2B business.”
