TNT has enhanced its Asia Road Network with the opening of an Asia Security Control and CommandCentre (ASCCC) in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
The ASCCC is the region’s first comprehensive security centre and a watchdog service for itsregional road transportation network, according to TNT. Located at TNT’s National Operations Centre(NOC) for Malaysia, the centre is equipped with the latest GPS technology, and 24-hour monitoringand surveillance security systems.
TNT Malaysia managing director Gerry Power said the centre played a critical role in monitoringAsia trucking operations and communicating with drivers. Customers, particularly shippers ofhigh-tech, high-value goods, had to be assured that their items were secure duringtransportation.
The Asia Road Network, launched last year, links towns and cities in Singapore, Malaysia andThailand with regular road trucking services. It is scheduled to expand to Cambodia, Laos andVietnam later this year, and onwards to China in 2007.
