Posten, the Swedish postal company, is all set to seal its takeover of communications and ITbusiness information company Strålfors. It has now gained 98% acceptance from the company’s
shareholders for its public offer.Posten said that it had received acceptances for the public offer corresponding to 98.7 per centof the shares and 99.2 per cent of votes in Strålfors, including the holdings of the foundingParkander family.
The Swedish competition authority has notified Posten that it will present its opinion on thetransaction on or around May 12, 2006. Posten has therefore decided to extend the acceptance periodfor the offer to May 15, 2006.
Posten announced in March that it had agreed to buy a majority holding in Strålfors, afamily-owned and stock exchange listed communications company, and has bid for the remainder of theshares. The agreed transaction values Stralfors at SEK 2,031 million (€217 million). Strålfors,with net sales of SEK 3.4 billion and 2,000 employees in 12 countries, provides IT-based businessinformation communications services.
