FedEx offers one-call express freight services

FedEx has unveiled a new platform for its express freight services, making it easier forcustomers to access its expedited freight services for transportation of time-sensitive,

heavy-weight shipments. The new service is initially available within the USA and targeted at USdomestic and international shippers.

The new, one-call solution is branded FedEx Expedited Freight Services. By calling one standardnumber, customers can quickly and easily evaluate the surface and air shipping options availablefrom FedEx Express, FedEx Freight and FedEx Custom Critical in order to select the best solution,the company said in a statement. 

Through one point of contact, customers can select from a broad range of freight services, basedon their pickup and delivery requirements, time sensitivity and the characteristics of the productsbeing shipped. FedEx Expedited Freight Services customer agents use proprietary informationtechnology to quickly identify the optimal solution for each customer’s needs. These customerservice agents can also confirm shipping services upon request for any FedEx expedited or freightservice – all with a single customer contact.

The FedEx transportation services range from exclusive-use vehicles for ground transportationand on-demand air charters offered by FedEx Custom Critical to the speed and precision offered byFedEx Express Freight for air-freight cargo and FedEx Freight for next-day and second-dayless-than-truckload (LTL) freight shipments.
