World Courier expands wholly-owned network to 50 countries

World Courier has extended its company-owned network to 50 countries worldwide with the recentopening of a new office in Ljubljana (Slovenia). The US-based specialist courier group now has

company offices in 137 locations and corporate representation in over 600 cities around theglobe.

“The opening of offices in locations like Ljubljana (Slovenia), Timisoara (Romania) and Varna(Bulgaria) is part of a continued trend to keep ahead of our clients’ needs and meet the increasingdemand for our specialist services in all parts of the world,” says Wayne Heyland, President andCEO of World Courier Group.

“As much as we use technology to improve our productivity, enhance our quality controlcapabilities and enrich global communications between offices and customers, there is no substitutefor trained and experienced personnel on the ground,” Heyland added. “We owe it to our customers touse local expertise whenever possible to support their businesses, particularly in emerging marketswhere the infrastructure is not fully developed. Having our own people throughout the world givesus the real-time resources to respond immediately to a client’s needs.”

Incorporated in 1969, World Courier claims to be the only specialist courier company with itsown global network dedicated to treating every shipment on an individual, priority basis. Itprovides customised solutions and value-added services in growth markets such as the bio-medical,automotive and high-tech industries. Although the privately-owned group does not release volume orrevenue figures, it stated last year that its 2004 sales had grown 20% on 2003.
