Baltic Logistic System (BLS), the GeoPost subsidiary, has introduced the DPD Guarantee servicein Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia, in the latest European extension of the time-guarantee
product.BLS, which operates under the domestic Bizpak and international DPD brands, said that theservice was launched in the three Baltic states at the start of April. The DPD Guarantee product,which has been rolled out across Europe over the last year, offers road-based time-definite parceldelivery within a specified time-frame.
“Results of European market research show that businesses need a service that guarantees parceldelivery at a preset time. Businesses that order DPD Guarantee can be sure that their parcel willreach the addressee at the preset time and if the parcel is late the service will be provided forfree,” said Gintaras Bingelis, sales and marketing director of BLS Vilnius.
BLS Vilnius increased turnover in 2005 by 38% to 27.6 million litas (€7.9 million) and increasedparcel volumes by 33% to 1.6 million, mostly thanks to strong growth of international parcels. Thecompany, which opened a new sorting terminal in Kaunus last year, said that it plans new expressand B2C products this year.
The Estonian sister company BLS Eesti grew its turnover by 25% to 45.5 million kroons (€2.9million) in 2005, and increased parcel volumes by 66% to an average of 5,000 per day.
