German express transport firm GEL Express Logistik has extended its coverage of Central andEastern Europe (CEE) to Hungary through a partnership with Austrian carrier Ontime Logistics. The
two firms are already partners in the NetExpress Europe parcels network.GEL Express Logistik said that it could now offer transit times of 48 hours from its German hubto Budapest and of 72 hours for the rest of Hungary. Rising demand for express transport to andfrom CEE countries had made it necessary to add a Hungary service, the German firm said. OntimeLogistics, based in Salzburg, is one of the leading express companies in Austria and Hungary, and along-standing member of NetExpress Europe (NEE).
“We are delighted that with Hungary we can nearly complete the range of international partnersin the new EU member states,” said Tobias Starosky, head of finances for GEL and responsible forinternational development.
NetExpress Europe (NEE) has expanded its coverage of CEE countries in recent months with severalnew agents. Poland is now covered through Transline Polska, the Czech Republic through SettoSpedition, Slovenia and Croatia through ACK, and Slovakia through C&K. The Baltic States havebeen covered since last December by Lex Systems.
