DHL Aviation, the DHL air operations division, has inaugurated a new facility at Alicanteairport in southern Spain, in the presence of political and airport authorities, senior members of
the company, and local customers.The 2,000 sqm site is divided into approximately 800 sqm of industrial space and 200 sqm ofoffice space. Its infrastructure includes four loading docks for trucks, an ADT warehouse and a60m3 cold storage hall. It will also be possible to offer warehouse handling services to airlinecompanies.
The growing operations of DHL Aviation in the area, added to the region’s strategic importanceand economic development, brought about the need to build this new facility, since the formerinstallations had become too small to maintain service quality.
DHL Aviation Alicante will be kicking off the summer season with daily ATR 72 freighter flightsoffering 8,000kg capacity. This marks a significant increase compared to the aircraft previouslyused: Embraer planes with 3,500 kg capacity, and ATR 42 planes with 5,000 kg capacity.
