DHL names new head of Express France

DHL

Stéphane Corthier has been appointed managing director of DHL Express France in place of OlivierDiehl, who has left the company. The appointment comes after the unit made a loss in 2005.

Corthier was head of sales, marketing and customer service for DHL Express France since 2003,and previously held the same post at Ducros Euro Express, the express firm acquired by DeutschePost World Net. Prior to joining the company, Corthier was managing director of the independentFrench parcels network Exapaq.

DHL Express France revenues dropped 12.5% last year and the unit made a loss, DPWN ExpressEurope chief Peter Kruse said at the company’s annual press conference last week. This was mostlydue to large-scale integration of the three networks of the former Ducros, Danzas Eurocargo andArcatime companies.
