Sagawa Express, the Japanese express parcels carrier, has opened three new facilities this monthto boost its business in the Tokyo area. The new centres include a new air cargo facility for
international express shipments.Sagawa opened a 31,778 sqm logistics distribution centre at the AMB …. Logistics park in thewestern district of Ohta. This is strategically located for good access to Tokyo city centre,Narita and Haneda airports. The company said the new facility would help it to expand its logisticsactivities and positioned it well for the planned international expansion of Haneda Airport in2009.
Sagawa has also opened a 14,319 sqm import / export centre at the new AMB Narita air cargocentre which will be used by its subsidiary Sagawa Global Express. Separately, the express firmopened its largest service centre in Tokyo in the city’s Koto district. The facility includes aparcels and mail handling centre.
