DHL expands time-definite express services in Europe and Asia

DHL is extending its time-definite express services in Europe and Asia with a range of productimprovements announced today. The Deutsche Post subsidiary claims the enhancements extend its

market leadership.

A new service for the Asia-Pacific region is MidDay Express, offering delivery of non-dutiableshipments by 12:00 second day to major cities and business centers in ten countries. “DHL customersare increasingly looking for morning deliveries of their time- sensitive shipments to Asia. Thisnew service offers a unique connection between more than 100 cities in 22 European countries andthe business centers of Asia Pacific,” said Bill Blomquist, Director of Marketing & Sales, DHLExpress Europe.

DHL said it is the first express company to offer this service on such a scale. As of March 1,DHL will also offer its StartDay Express service, providing delivery before 9 a.m., to five majorAsian cities (Hong Kong, Manila, Singapore, Bangkok and Taipei).

In Europe, DHL MidDay Express is now also available for import shipments from Asia Pacific. Itsgeographical reach has been extended to cover 72 per cent of business addresses across Europe. ForGermany, DHL reaches an almost nationwide coverage for deliveries by 12:00 into and within thecountry.

“The latest development of time-definite deliveries brings our service levels to new heights andsurpasses our competitors. Time-definite services are now available to over 110,000 postcodes inEurope and from Europe to 55 countries in all regions of the world,” Blomquist added.
