Italian courier Bartolini opens new Milan, Turn and Rome depots

Italian courier company Bartolini, the national DPD franchisee, has expanded its network withthe opening of key new depots to serve Milan, Turin and Rome. 

On January 16, Bartolini opened a new Turin South depot, covering 1,800 sqm and with asemi-automatic parcel handling system. The depot, adding to three existing sites, will improvecoverage of the region south of Turin, the company said.

One week earlier, the express firm opened two new locations in the Milan region. The new MilanAlbairate depot, covering 7,000 sqm, is located next to the company’s existing logistics terminalwest of Milan. It will mostly handle heavier shipments weighing more than 100kg. The new depot atMonza, covering 3,000 sqm, will enable the courier to improve its coverage of the region north-eastof Milan. Bartolini said the two new locations completed its network in the Milan region, where itnow has nine depots and three logistics terminals.

Bartolini has also opened its Central Rome depot to increase its capacity for shipments to andfrom the historic centre of Rome. The 1,000 sqm centre is designed to handle small parcels of about5kg. Bartolini has five other depots covering Rome and the surrounding region.
