Assemble Connect signs global logistics arrangement with UPS

US industrial manufacturer Assemble Connect has signed a logistics arrangement with UPS to usetheir Trade Direct offer for its international air and ocean freight shipping needs. This agreement

will speed time to market by 5 to 15 working days at lower freight costs to most of the company’scustomers, it announced.

Assemble Connect Inc, based near Chicago, provides custom manufacturing services of cableassembly, wire harness, power cords, PCB assembly and related services to many industries. It usesremote warehousing abilities in many locations across the USA, and sources many supplies overseas. “ We have used UPS, but up until now just for small package freight,” said Eric Wendt, president ofAssemble Connect.

For Assemble Connect shipments large or small, sea or air, UPS Trade Direct provides labels andmaterials and direct-to-customer delivery. In addition to the delivery time reductions, the processactually reduces overall freight costs by 10 per cent or more by dramatically reducing reshipmentcosts for Assemble Connect. The bottom line for the Company is improved customer service anddelivery time.

With first deliveries already complete the company is confident that UPS and Trade Direct willmeet Assemble Connect’s needs. Wendt said: “Our company is growing at an incredible rate, andfreight costs are a substantial portion of our expenses. The agreements with UPS will be acornerstone of our growth in the future.”
