DHL said it has won a new three-year contract with Stryker Orthopaedics, a global leader in thedevelopment, manufacture and sale of orthopaedic products and services. Under the contract, DHL
will transport all of Stryker Orthopaedics’ medical devices from Europe to the United States usingits Import Express service.Stryker Orthopaedics manufactures a variety of medical devices in France, Germany, Ireland andSwitzerland which it sells and distributes to hospitals and doctors across the world. The companychose DHL as its exclusive carrier because of its ability to expedite these critical shipmentswithin 48 hours from Stryker manufacturing plants overseas to its distribution center in Mahwah,New Jersey.
With the Import Express service, DHL takes complete responsibility from pickup to delivery, allfor one pre-quoted transportation charge. Once the shipment is underway, easy track and trace isavailable from pickup through final delivery. The customer receives one invoice per billing cyclein the customer’s currency, allowing DHL Import Express customers to easily budget for and auditall import shipments.
