GLS Ireland said it is relocating to a larger depot in Cork to cope with larger volumes. The new2,000 sqm site at the Wallingstown Business Park in Cork serves not only Cork but neighbouring Cork
and County Kerry. The location also has a Parcel Shop where private and commercial customers withsporadic shipments can hand in their parcels.“Recent months have witnessed a continuously upward trend in consignment volume; the old depothas had its day in terms of capacity”, explained Olaf Stüwe, Managing Director of GLS Ireland. “With the move, we are doing justice to the high transportation volume. At the new depot we canhandle up to 4,000 parcels a day.”
The expanded location features the very latest in efficient, state-of-the-art parcel logisticsfrom the automatic parcel-sorting system to IT equipment. Furthermore, modern 24-hour videomonitoring and a powerful alarm system make for the greatest possible security throughout thepremises.
