Business Post Group has announced that Paul Carvell, Chief Executive, has resigned from theGroup with immediate effect to pursue other opportunities. His role will be assumed by Guy Buswell,
44, who has been Managing Director of UK Mail since July 2002.Peter Kane, Chairman, commented: “Since his arrival in February 2001, Paul has made a keycontribution to the development of the Group and its broadening range of services. Guy has been aBoard Director since 1998. His experience of the business and considerable success in theestablishment of UK Mail as the leading alternative to Royal Mail qualify him to take the Groupforward as Chief Executive.”
The surprise announcement follows several weeks of speculation regarding Business Post. Thecompany has been forced to issue two profit warnings for the current fiscal year due to thedeclining UK market and internal issues. There have been reports that FedEx, for whom Business Postacts as a local distribution sub-contractor, might be interested in the operator.
