FedEx will be flying more than 3,000 freshly cut Christmas trees to US soldiers and theirfamilies at military bases within the USA and to troops overseas under a newly-launched “Trees for
Troops” campaign.The program, run in cooperation with the Christmas Spirit Foundation, kicked off in Columbus,Ohio when FedEx joined forces with the Ohio Christmas Tree Association’s “Operation Evergreen” tocollect, pack and ship more than 200 Christmas trees to soldiers serving in the Middle East. Thetrees were flown from the FedEx Express hub in Indianapolis to Qatar.
In addition to the international transport, the Trees for Troops program will collect anddeliver 3,000 freshly cut trees to military bases in the United States between November 16 andDecember 9. FedEx Freight will provide the pickup-and-delivery service for the Christmas SpiritFoundation, the philanthropic arm of the National Christmas Tree Association.
