DPD streamlines management

DPD has streamlined its management by cutting a five-person management board down to two. At thesame time, GeoPost CEO Paul-Marie Chavanne will become chairman of the DPD supervisory board.

DPD GmbH & Co. KG, the German-based franchisor company for the entire DPD network, will infuture be led by a two-man management team comprising Hans Fluri, CEO of DPD GeoPost Deutschland,and Arnold Schroven, to date chairman of the DPD supervisory board. They will act as joint CEOswith equal responsibilities. The move means that Fluri will head both the DPD franchisororganisation and DPD GeoPost Deutschland, the Germany franchisee.

DPD said that all five previous members of the franchisor management team have taken on majorresponsibilities within the GeoPost international structure. Wolfgang Lehmacher is responsible forinternational operations outside of Europe, reporting directly to GeoPost chairman Paul-MarieChavanne. Rainer Braun is the new director of international operations, reporting to Lehmacher.Marek Zulawski will be responsible for the international DPD network, reporting to Arnold Schroven.Armin Bohnhoff will be the new director of operations at the franchisee DPD GeoPost Deutschland,reporting to Hans Fluri. Peter Burmeister takes up the post of CFO for DPD GeoPost Deutschland.

Paul-Marie Chavanne, chairman of DPD’s majority shareholder GeoPost SA., will become chairman ofthe supervisory board. The new slimmed-down organisational structure would position DPD ideally toimplement its ambitious plans, Chavanne said. “We want to place the focus even more strongly oncustomer service locally, and at the same time push ahead with the development of our worldwidenetwork in order to extend our position as an international specialist provider of CEP services“,he stressed.

The new DPD structure was unanimously approved by the supervisory board of DPD GmbH & Co. KGat a meeting this week. It follows the reorganisation of the GeoPost management announced inOctober as a consequence of the departure of Claude Béglé to DHL.
