Geodis increases nine-month sales by 6%

Geodis has announced sales growth of seven per cent in the third quarter, or 6.1 per cent on alike-for-like basis. Over the first nine months, its sales grew six per cent to 2,625 million

euros, which is a 5.2 per cent rise on a like-for-like basis.

The French market leader increased domestic revenues by 5.3 per cent to 1,842 million euros overthe first nine months. This was due to the positive development of air and ocean freightforwarding, automotive logistics, groupage trucking and express services. But its full truckloadbusiness saw slower sales.

In the rest of Europe, Geodis recorded a 5.5 per cent rise in sales to 773 million euros overthe first nine months, including a 7.2 per cent like-for-like increase in the third quarter. Therevenue decline in Italy slowed to 3.9 per cent in the third quarter compared to a 6.6 per centfall at the end of June. Growth was driven by Eastern Europe and recent logistics contracts in theUnited Kingdom, Ireland and Spain.

Rest of World sales, particularly Asia, continued to enjoy strong growth, rising 25.1 per centfor the third quarter and 30.1 per cent to 136 million euros for the first nine months on alike-for-like basis.
