DHL has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art logistics terminal in Wroclaw, Poland, to strengthenits European network. The new 3.3 million euro warehouse and sorting centre, with capacity of up to
15,000 items per day, will benefit its express operations with later collection and earlierdelivery times. The Wroclaw plant, one of five new terminals to be opened in Poland in 2005, willsupplement the three DHL centres in Gluchowo (near Poznan), Zabrze and Warsaw.Opening the new terminal, Peter Kruse, Deutsche Post World Net board member with responsibilityfor DHL Express Europe and Germany, said: “Since its accession to the EU, Poland has played animportant strategic role in our new business development in eastern Europe. The new terminal willhelp us to further improve our operating processes in the interest of our customers – and not justin Poland, but also within the international DHL network.”
