German express company trans-o-flex Schnell-Lieferdienst GmbH has taken over TT Tour-TransGroup, a logistics firm headquartered in Kerpen, near Cologne. The acquisition of the group, with a
workforce of 67 employees, took place in August 2005. The German Monopolies and Mergers Commissionhas already given its consent to this deal. It was agreed not to disclose the acquisitionprice.trans-o-flex and TT Tour-Trans have already been successfully working together for 15 years. Aco-operation agreement was concluded in 1991 under which trans-o-flex also handles supra-regionalorders for the Kerpen-based company. “This acquisition serves to consolidate our successfulpartnership,” comments Klaus J. Heinz, spokesman of trans-o-flex management board. “The logisticsservices provided by TT Tour-Trans add to and complete our own range of services.” TT Tour-Transoffers know-how and solution concepts in particular for the cosmetics, entertainment and multimediaindustries as well as for the sound storage medium sector with its CDs and DVDs. These contributealmost 90 per cent of its sales. One of the services offered to cosmetic companies, for example, isthe loading, delivery and pick-up of sales displays. The TT Tour-Trans customer base includesrenowned companies such as EMI, Sony, L’Oréal and Douglas. trans-o-flex concentrates its activitieson the pharmaceutical industry as well as on cosmetics and multimedia companies.
TT Tour-Trans will continue to operate under its own brand. Both managing directors, MatthiasSchulmeister and Carsten Milz, will remain. Matthias Schulmeister will supervise the integration ofthe TT Group into trans-o-flex, while Carsten Milz will take over the management of TT Tour-Transwithin the trans-o-flex organisation.
