Parceline

At least ten extra jobs will be created immediately by express parcels carrier Parceline’s£3.65m investment in new, purpose-built premises on the Waterwells Business Park. Parceline’s

permanent commitment to Gloucester means eventually 150 jobs will be created. Building work hasalready commenced on a strategically located 3.95 acre site on Marconi Drive, with the new depotopening at the beginning of September.

Parceline chose a new depot site which was near to the temporary premises, to protect existingemployees and ensure that they can easily retain their jobs. Currently base at Quedgley EnterpriseCentre, Parceline is a trading success story, with a growing customer list of regional businesseswhich makes this move to larger premises necessary.  The new site in Waterwells Business Parkcomprises a 31,646 sq ft warehouse as well as office space.

“We currently have 41 local people working for us, who are all moving to our new premises” saysdepot manager Alex Crow. “We are currently recruiting for up to 10 additional staff, mostlydrivers.  Although our collection and delivery drivers have a demanding role, we have greattraining programmes, so lack of experience is not a drawback. Our success in Gloucester is due tothe people we have working here, so we’re keen that new recruits will add to the team. Weanticipate steady growth over the next few years, and have the capacity at our new depot premisesto expand up to a total of 150 jobs.”
