TNT Express announced that it has acquired ‘Door-to-Door’, Slovenia’s leading domestictransport company for an undisclosed sum. ‘Door-to-Door’ was founded in 1991 and currently employs over 200 people. It operates onehub, seven depots and a fleet of 119 vehicles from its main office in Ljubljana, while TNT hasoperated in Slovenia through a local agent since 1994. ‘Door-to-Door’ was the company’sstrongest partner in the country.
These ‘Door-to-Door’ resources will now be added to the 2,400 employees, 78 depots and 826 vehiclesTNT is already deploying in the Eastern European countries. The acquisition of ‘Door to Door’ willcreate 50 new jobs within the first year of operating under the TNT umbrella and confirms TNT’sstrong commitment to be the number one transport company in Europe. Last year, Door-to-Doordistributed 1,200,000 domestic consignments and boasts a 98 per cent ‘on time’ delivery recordrate. It offers country-wide overnight domestic distribution services and works with many businesssectors including automotive, technology, pharmaceutical and printing industries.
