The Federal Insurance Institution for Salaried Employees (BfA) puts its trust once again inDeutsche Post
Already for the tenth time since 1953, insured persons will be electing their representativesfor the self-governing entities of the social insurance companies. Starting April 18, nearly 30million sets of materials for the election of the representative body of the Federal InsuranceInstitution for Salaried Employees (BfA) have been sent out to all regions in Germany. And DeutschePost, which has proven its competency for handling such complex procedures in past elections, hasonce again been awarded the contract.
Because the election will be carried out exclusively by mail-in voting, the BfA needs adependable service provider that can handle a contract of this magnitude. Already in March of thisyear, the BfA contracted Deutsche Post to send a pre-election announcement to over 30 millioninsured persons. The subsequent requests for informational brochures (“The Candidate ListsIntroduce Themselves”) were delivered reliably by Deutsche Post to the recipients, just as with thecurrent election materials. In the coming weeks the BfA is expecting another wave of over 10million mail items as the insured send in their ballots. In all, Deutsche Post will handlesignificantly more than 70 million items for the 2005 social election.
Herbert Rische, President of BfA, values Deutsche Post as a competent partner for handlinglarge projects such as the social election, which takes place every six years. “In the course ofour work together with Deutsche Post in earlier social elections, the Post has proved to us theirprofessionalism and dependability, especially in dealing with such a large number of items. We wantto make sure that all insured persons, including those in the more remote parts of our country, receive the election materials on time so that they can participate in the voting. And DeutschePost has no problem handling our special demands,” said Rische.
Jürgen Gerdes, member of the MAIL Divisional Board at Deutsche Post, is convinced that suchlarge-scale contracts are an opportunity for the company to prove its competitiveness: “Even thoughwe provide so many services in addition to mail these days, contracts of this magnitude alwaysprovide us with the opportunity to prove to our customers our core competency in mail transport. Sowe are pleased that the BfA has decided to go with us again.”
